Reducing food insecurity and food waste: the European Food Banks Federation

Ahead of the International Day of Awareness on Food Loss and Waste, Jacques Vandenschrik, President of the European Food Banks Federation (FEBA), talks about the federation’s work and the growing demands during the pandemic. As well as helping to reduce food insecurity, FEBA members reduce food waste, another shared goal with the European Commission that ties in with the Farm to Fork strategy, the European Green Deal and the UN Strategic Development Goals.
